Szczesny - We will pick ourselves back up
Wojciech Szczesny is confident that Arsenal will bounce back quickly from their recent dip.
Sunday’s defeat against Manchester United was their third league loss in succession, a run last experienced in April 2007 when Arsenal eventually finished fourth.
But Szczesny believes the squad have enough quality to turn around their fortunes sooner rather than later - especially with key players due back soon.
“I am confident that we will pick ourselves up, will win games and get our position in the Champions League,” said the goalkeeper. “I am not worried, just disappointed obviously.
“It should be a big confidence boost for us with the likes of Jack Wilshere and Bacary Sagna coming back and Kieran Gibbs as well.
“They are very important players for us and if we can have them back in the team as soon as possible then it will give us a lot of confidence. Hopefully they will help us get the results that this club deserves.”
Arsène Wenger said on Friday that failure to qualify for the Champions League would “not be good enough” [LINK HERE], an opinion Szczesny shares.
“I think this club should be in the Champions League year in year out so I understand the manager's point completely,” said the Polish international.
“I think this club has enough experience to deal with that. Hopefully we can deal with all of the pressure that surrounds us at the moment and live up to the expectations because these fans and this club deserves better results than we have got in the last few weeks.
“We've been there before and we have reacted very well. I think we'll do the same thing again and make sure that this club goes in the right direction to finish the season where we should.”
